Introduction to Fish Physiology

Lynwood S. Smith, Narendra, 1999, Reprint, 352 p, figs, ISBN : 81-85375-54-2,

Contents: 1. Introduction. 2. Osmoregulation. 3. Circulatory system. 4. Respiratory system. 5. Bioenergetics and metabolism. 6. Digestion. 7. Muscle metabolism and function. 8. Sensory organs. 9. Central nervous system. 10. Endocrine system. 11. Reproduction. 12. Applied physiology. Bibliography. Index.
"The book describes candidly the life processes of fishes, particularly their functions that relate to organs and organ systems. Although fishes have many of the similar vertebrate characteristics found in humans, they differ remarkably in other ways because of the strict limitations placed on them and beacuse of the unique opportunities afforded to them by their aquatic environment. The physiological functions discussed in this book along with various data collected from experiments on Salmon, Trout, etc., they being by far the most studied fishes, are sure to give the reader a more colourful insight into the world of fish physiology. The author offers a useful bibliography to further stimulate the readers who need supplementary material. This book will undoubtedly be a useful research aid to college students and professionals alike. For fish hobbyists and commercial producers, it will be one of the most informative and easy to understand publications. The text is supported by the illustrations in detail. It will indeed be an asset to the libraries."

The only original Version I know Is from 1982 (TFH Publication), if this is just a 1 to 1 Reprint then it is not worth it, the Fish Physiology Series being available here is much nore valuable!

I know that, Vetaqua. however, I only need general information. the fish physiology series are so deep.
