Description
In this book I have attempted to provide as much information as possible which is relevant to macaws and to omit that which applies to parrots in general. Therefore, in the chapter which discusses disease and the care of sick birds, for example, I have not included information on how to recognize an ailing bird, but instead have given details of some of the more recently recognised virus diseases, such as papova, to which macaws are susceptible.
I have also presented as much new data on breeding as possible (much of it from the birds in my care) so that there is little or no overlap with the text of Parrots, their Care and Breeding (1986).
