In October, a new $15 million hospital for military veterans opened at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. What sets this hospital apart is not the state-of-the-art medical equipment, but the fact that its patients are of the 4-legged variety. Dr. Bob Vogelsang, director of military working dog veterinary services at Lackland Air Force Base calls the hospital the "Walter Reed of the veterinary world."
