Description

Physical therapy is concerned with the prevention, management, and treatment of movement and allied disorders. It encompasses detailed assessments and treatment programmes that involve hands-on therapy, along with dynamic remedial and strengthening techniques using
exercise plans. As far as dogs are concerned, this is an evolving therapy, but one that has been used for centuries. It was ex - pounded by a famous Greek practitioner, Arrian, who wrote about how massage would help horses and dogs, asserting that it would ‘strengthen th limbs, render the hair soft and glossy, and cleanse the skin’.
