These CDs will help you with surgical techniques that you are likely to carry out in your practice. When you have a specific procedure to carry out, you can use the CD to make life easier. Check on the best surgical approach, take on board tips on technique and pitfalls to avoid from an experienced specialist surgeon, and brush up on your surgical anatomy, all in around ten minutes. Your surgical nurse can check on patient preparation and positioning , and put the required instrumentation together for the operation. You can also print out a summary of the technique for reference away from the computer.

Procedures included:-
• Lateral Wall Resection
• Tracheostomy
• Thyroidectomy
• Sialadenectomy
• Tonsillectomy

CD-Roms only work on a Windows PC

The programme does not begin after cd mount as it is copyright protected.

Only thing sb could do is to open the videos' folder inside the cd's folder and click on video files to see the video manually with a media player.

Do that in combination with the PDF files also included in the CDs folder.

SAME PROBLEM..!!!....Many thanks my friend for explanation, same problem for me...BUT ONLY Head & Neck Surgery....Joint surg work well....in my computer ( ERROR message is ~no disc inserted~..??..)

Please help computer experts because it..it is a very high quality material, one of the best cpd-houses in the UK...:bye:

Program works for me and I don't have original disc anymore. You may try few things:

1) Did you use Daemon Tools (download link in 1st post) to mount disc image? If not then install it and mount image, then run program.

2) Then follow instructions on screen - read carefully ALL instructions - this may mean that you have to:

- change screen resolution to 800x600

- uninstall your current Adobe version and install version provided on this DVD

- install Quick Time - also provided on this DVD

Good luck!

I also had difficulty making this archive work, though I had no problems with the very similar "Joint Surgery 1 - hip and stifle basics". Interestingly, I traced the problem to the cd-rom.exe file contained within both archives - the one in the "Head and Neck Surgery 1" archive doesn't appear to function (perhaps it's corrupted?), but the one in the "Joint_Surgery_1" archive works just fine. These are fairly generic macromedia files, so replacing one with the other did the trick. To summarize, here are the steps I took to fix the problem:

1. unpack both the head_and_neck_1.nrg and the joint_surgery_1.nrg (.nrg are Nero Burning Rom format) files (yes, you'll need both): there are numerous programs to do this, I used PowerArchiver (which has a 30 day free trial).

2. copy the cd-rom.exe from the joint_surgery_1 root directory over the cd-rom.exe file in the head_and_neck_1 root directory. Make sure to do this as a "copy and paste" - you don't want to move the cd-rom.exe file, otherwise the joint_surgery_1 directory will be left without a cd-rom.exe file. To confirm: the cd-rom.exe in the joint_surgery_1 archive (the file you want) is ~11mb, while the cd-rom.exe file in the head_and_neck_1 archive (the file you don't want) is only ~5mb. After copying, you should end up with both cd-rom.exe files ~11mb, and no cd-rom.exe files that are 5mb.

3. you should now be able to run the head_and_neck_1 program through either mwm.exe or cd-rom.exe (it doesn't matter which) as usual, assuming you have quicktime and acrobat reader installed. I have Quicktime 7 and Acrobat Reader 9 installed, and am using Windows 7.

4. you can repack to .iso if you want to keep only one archive file around, but you'll need a program like virtual clone drive (it's free) to mount and run the iso as if it were a cd-rom.

If anyone has any problems replicating my success, I can re-upload the modified archive and/or iso file.

Also, I just noticed that the Head_and_Neck_Surgery_1 archive is missing the "Tech_F" directory associated with the tracheostomy anatomy & walk-through - does anyone have that, perchance?
