Hello all,

I think since the new site rules (making the 20 posts before being able to acces to books area) should be updated under the site rules area.
It took me quite some time before I found out that the rules had changed since I last visited and that your post count had become the reason I could not acces the book area any more.

I think a lot of people are a little confused and can't find the reason why, because it is not set in the forum rules that you get when you click on the 'forum rules' at the top of the site.

Best regards,

Dorien

Good Idea and thanks Akiya,
I wasn't sure what was happening. I have been looking for the "rules" all morning. I want to donate but am afraid sinse I cant tell whats happening with this site, a little confusing.

Well I think this site deserves a donation, thats a lot of work being done by who ever runs the website, the problem is I wont make a donation if it's not clear how this site works! I have gone through all ECFVG program pass the BCSE and NAVLE and I think I can help out, but again it is not clear yet how this site works!

Thanks
David

Thanks .....

The banner at the top is nice :) it's all clear now and people can't miss it!

I still confuse about 'making 20 posts'. I had more 20 posts but I still cant see eBook section. In my profile, I see someone give me "thank" on my post.
Maybe start now, we have to make 20 posts again. Am I wrong?

I really don't know, it would be weird if they resetted al the previous posts (since there are still people around with post counts over a thousand).
But I do remember posting every now and then (not that much but still) and when I came back my post count was zero so I guess they might have...

I have a question about this new rule, the 20 posts rule, what do you intend to achieve with it? Also is it allowed to make posts in the local threads in our language or should all posts be in english?

You are allowed to make postings in any section you can access.

Generally this site is international and therefore english language ist requested, only in certain section which support local areas you can write in corresponding languages, but in any case of doubt always in english.

But writing in native language does not allow making useless postings!

Our intention is to encourage users to contribute valuable content, which actively supports the needs of others!

In my personal opinion (which is not representative!) this 20-Posting-Rule is even not enough!

So in my office here (which is representative!) I take special care for postings that do not show elaboration but just careless replying with no valuable content!

For Example:

I really don't know, it would be weird if they resetted al the previous posts (since there are still people around with post counts over a thousand).

IF it is gone then it was not lastingly usefull and became a victim of general cleaning, as we also try to keep the site slim for better running.

I support the idea that, activate the members, but I think, it would be enough lower post-count.
Sometimes it is not usefull: I posted a question, and I can't see the answer, because of my beginner position.

Please show me exactly where and what to check it up...

Top banner - "RULES" is not working for some time now. It get message:

[h=1]Not Found[/h] The requested URL /misc.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi, I'm new on the site and I'm not able to understand how it works? The link rules is not working...? Could someone tell me what do I have to do to access ebooks?

I think new members should be able to PM mods. (some of my posts were deleted and i was facing a problem), i couldnt PM any the old members i knew to help me :/

Welcome, dear BGJ87, and All New Members,

Basicly, what every new member should do is to look for the information, on how things are done here at Vetelib.
Mostly is at FAQ's Section, sticky informative threads, since how to post, what ( constructive posts, ideas for that ) , where to post, how to see hidden material, how to request for it, how to report the expired, etc.,
The respect for each member and the forum's flow is important, we are in a community those are basics,
even you can find all what you should not do, avoiding this way any punishment, like "
THANK YOU POSTS".
This one has a HUGE important announcement at the entrance of the E-Books, and even like that, new members
Keep posting "Thank you" or "Useless Posts".

The compulsive postings, of: thank you; please, reupload; or any other unnecessary, useless comments are a disturbance of the forum's natural flow ( constructive postings ), so avoid them.
THEY ARE PUNISHED WITH DELETION.

New members has to be pro-active, the information is in there, you just have to look for it. AND APPLY IT!

About the questions, well, FAQ's Section is for that. New Members Forum can be useful, as well.
Don't close yourself in the tematic of " How the forum works?", " where's the Rules?", " the direct for it doesn't work"
Look for it and you'll find the way, the info, even if you step on a stone ( my moderation ), you'll learn from it.

Your friendly Moderator,
Motoko.
